Supposedly titled "Aristocracy Revisited," the excerpt revealed the president had "doubts" about the "so-called founders." Juicy. Except not true. Limbaugh discovered halfway through his show that he'd been had, but defended himself by saying basically the thesis felt true.

Been reading around the vine now for a while. But more than I consider you a "friend". What that means in the on-line world can be debated. But I have read your thoughts and I think you are brilliant when expressing them.
Thanks for the invitation ohiogal... your avitar is cute!!!
Ohiogal, how can you say that there's not much difference between the Duggars & the octuplet mom? The Duggars conceived their children in the privacy of their own home, where nobody has the right to prevent them from doing so and impact their decisions. Octuplet mom would never have had those kids without help from medical community!!!!! That is messed up!!!!
ohiogal,
you make some excellent points. The only problem I see is that the more we tax corporations, the more they move to other coutries for cheaper labor. thus eliminating even those 10 jobs for AMERICANS that you mentioned, which hurts our economy overall.
I like alot of what some of you have said, especially about those corporations who simply squander the extra monry they have. That is why I think there needs to be a balance between both ideas---give tax breaks, but create stipulations to obtain those tax breaks.
For example: If your company generates X number of jobs in relation to the percentage of profit that your company earns, then you can qualify for a tax break. If your company thinks that it can make more profits by hiring less people, that is fine, but you will not be eligable for the tax break.
I realize that this is just a quick and rough example with potential flaws, but I think that it illustrates my point about the fact that we can create tax breaks, while at the same time ensure that corporations are giving back to the economy either through jobs or taxes. It does not have to be so hard lined, "one way or the other," this country was founded on compromises that generated inovative ideas. That is my point.
Take the ideas, look at what works and what does not work with each side and then generate ideas that use the best of both worlds. Very ideological, I know, but if the Constituion is the model for for how our governemnt should function, then shouldn't we follow the examples of the founding fathers and use the free marketplace of ideas to create more"Great Compromises" that move these stagnating debates forward and revolutionze the political decisions of our day?
Poor John McCain if he wasn't able to take jabs at his opponent he wouldn't have much to say. Instead of talking sensibly about the issues he spends time attacking Obama. McCain is really going to need to step up to the plate, this isn't kindergarten picking on or making fun of someone. We are in the worst financial position since the great depression. There are a lot of people that like the back biting but I think there are more of us that need to see someone that can talk about solving the problems we have in this country. Instead of tearing apart what Obama says come up with something of your own as President you have to act on your own not bounce of of someone else's policies.
